Arts Writer - Tony Crosse writes:

It's good to come across an artist whose work commands instantaneous attention, Sharon Seymour's works have always done that for me ever since she held her exhibition of large scale paintings at Medway Maritime Hospital. She was one of the first artists to support the project known as the Healing Arts Programme intitiative. The show was an instant success in the John Spence Gallery with a wide spectrum of interested viewers from the hospital staff, visitors and patients. I believe her art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time and although she would agree that art is much less important than life, she would affirm that life would be poor without it. In my opinion she paints what she is, which makes every work authentic, she has studied, revised and worked up every image to reflect her constant inspirations and her unremitting desire to communicate them to the viewers. I think she paints the world as she feels it, not as she sees it, a truly contemporary artist.
